چکیده

The interconnection of a large number of processors and other devices to form a parallel/distributed computing system is a research area receiving a great deal of attention. One method is to use a multistage network. This paper compares two classes of multistage networks by examining two representative networks: the Generalized Cube and the Augmented Data Manipulator. The two topologies are compared using a graph model. By interpreting the graphical representations of the networks in different ways, different but functionally equivalent implementations result. The costs of the various implementations are compared taking VLSI considerations into account. Finally, the robustness (fault tolerance) of the different networks is measured and contrasted.

Neuro-Optimizer: A New Artificial Intelligent Optimization Tool and Its Application for Robot Optimal Controller Design

The main objective of this paper is to introduce a new intelligent optimization technique that uses a predictioncorrectionstrategy supported by a recurrent neural network for finding a near optimal solution of a givenobjective function. Recently there have been attempts for using artificial neural networks (ANNs) in optimizationproblems and some types of ANNs such as Hopfield network and Boltzm...

The PM22I Interconnection Network

For the interconnection networks of multiprocessors, performance measures such as the request acceptance probability and the network delay are known to improve as the hasic switch size increases. However, the network cost also increases at the same time. Thus, the choice of the switch size provides important cost versus performance tradeoffs once a particular network configuration has been deci...

A three translational DoFs parallel cube-manipulator

This paper concerns the presentation and analysis of a type of three translational degrees of freedom (DoFs) parallel cube-manipulator. The parallel manipulators are the topology architectures of the DELTA robot and Tsai’s manipulator, respectively, which have three translational DoFs. In the design, the three actuators are arranged according to the Cartesian coordinate system, which means that...

Kinematic Synthesis of Parallel Manipulator via Neural Network Approach

In this research, Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) have been used as a powerful tool to solve the inverse kinematic equations of a parallel robot. For this purpose, we have developed the kinematic equations of a Tricept parallel kinematic mechanism with two rotational and one translational degrees of freedom (DoF). Using the analytical method, the inverse kinematic equations are solved for spe...

Neural Network Sensitivity to Inputs and Weights and its Application to Functional Identification of Robotics Manipulators

Neural networks are applied to the system identification problems using adaptive algorithms for either parameter or functional estimation of dynamic systems. In this paper the neural networks' sensitivity to input values and connections' weights, is studied. The Reduction-Sigmoid-Amplification (RSA) neurons are introduced and four different models of neural network architecture are proposed and...
